Socrative

Socrative is a student response system. An e-clicker device that runs off ANY web browser (on your iPad, iPod, laptop, smartphone, etc.).  All web-enabled devices can participate. There is a Teacher app and Student app. 

• It allows for teachers to quickly and easily set up multiple choice, true/false, short answer, quiz assessment activities, which students respond to using their own devices. 
  
• It can be used at any grade level with all subject matter.
• It produces high engagement through whole class participation and real time formative assessment data. 
• Teachers login through their device and choose the question type and ask a question.  Students log in on their own devices using the Student App and respond to the questions. 
• The student responses are collated and displayed on the classroom screen or can be e-mailed to the teacher.  
• There are also pre-designed activities to choose from along with Exit Tickets to check your students’ understanding at the end of a lesson.
• The questions you create will be saved to your account so you can access them anytime.

This app requires Wi-Fi and is ideal for 1:1, but the activities can be completed collaboratively. This app is currently free but requires teacher registration. A great resource is the Socrative website: http://www.socrative.com/
