The NASA app will show you anything related to space. It includes interactive media of any body in space as well as what NASA has done in the past and what it hopes to accomplish in the future. |
Educreations ***Free***
Students can draw anything on this white board app. Have them draw a food chain while they explain using the correct academic language for each step. Better yet, insert a picture of the planets and have students narrate the different planets. |
Doodle Lab 101 Lite ***Free***
Although this app comes across to students as a game, it is actually a preprimer to basic physics and chemistry. Students create a path to guide the elements to a beaker. It becomes somewhat addicting as you mix and seperate chemicals. |

Comic Life is a great app to use as a flow map. With Comic Life, students can create a food chain. They can show the life cycle of any animal. The weather cycle and the rock cycle can also be done in Comic Life. Students just gather their pictures and add speech bubbles to explain each step of the way! |
The Weather Channel ***Free***
This is a great app to use to teach the weather. It has videos of different kinds of weather. You can look at fronts moving all over the world! |
Google Earth ***Free***
The Google Earth app is a wonderful app to use when teaching erosion and patterns of erosion. Pick a spot on the globe and you will be able to show how all kinds of erosion happens anywhere in the world. |
Planets ***Free***
Planets is a basic app that shows the order and location of the planets. If you allow it to use your location, it will show you constellations in real time.There's even a couple of links to a few YouTube videos on space! |
Interplanetary 3D Sun ***Free***
Using this app to teach about the sun is a great idea. You can look at the sun up close or at a distance. You can get notifications on solar activity. There are also videos and images you can access. |
A Life Cycle App ***$0.99***
When covering life cycles, this app comes in handy. It covers the life cycle of the frog and the butterfly. It goes beyond that and goes into detail on the water cycle and the rock cycle. It even includes photosynthesis! |
