Price: $9.99 and worth every penny!
Contrary to popular belief, Numbers has uses beyond what you can do in the math class. Let's start there.
- In the math class, you can teach your students how to solve equations and practice math facts.
- For vocabulary practice, you can put your vocabulary words in one column and the definitions in the next column. Sort one column and have the students put them back in order to rematch the words with the definitions.
- A great exercise to practice spelling is to put your weekly spelling words in one column and then hide that column. Students type in the spelling words in the next column. With the use of an equation in the third column, students get instant feedback on whether their words are correct.
- If you are in a bind, Numbers can be used to create attractive thinking maps (i.e. tree maps, flow maps, multiflow maps).
- With the new common core standards coming out, using numbers to create graphs to support a set of data shows evidence to support answers and shows student thinking quite effectively.
