App of the Week: Moment Diary

Picture
Price: FREE

Moment Diary proudly promotes itself as a private diary for personal uses, but there are plenty of ways to incorporate it into a classroom setting.  From a teaching and planning perspective, it is simple to set up lesson plan ideas, gather materials for a unit plan, or just record your thoughts on a topic.  Add websites, maps, pictures, audio from the microphone, timestamps, and even add notifications that push to you on your iPad.  You can limit character counts to 140 to practice those tweets as well.

For students, the possibilities for implementing this app could be:

  • Keep track of reading logs and progress of learning
  • Document the steps of an experiment in science
  • Create a timeline of information for a variety of scenarios
  • For large projects, this could be an easy way to track progress and document it
  • Journalism students can complete their interviews, write-ups, and get one step away from publishing from here!

There is so much that Moment Diary can do that it's worth opening up and giving it a try for yourself.  Whether you're in a 1:1, 2:1, carts, or a single teacher iPad, Moment Diary is a valuable addition to your iPad!

If you would like more information about this or any of the apps that we have reviewed, please feel free to contact us by email or twitter.  Thank you and have a great day!
