Garage Band Basics
Using this App in the classroom is an excellent way for students to use their creativity. English Language Learners, as well as other students, can voice record to check reading fluency and become comfortable with their own voice. Students can create songs or raps to a tune to explain a new concept.
In a music class students can sing a song and check for in and out of tune notes. Listen for clear transitions between vowels and consonants; along with breathing techniques when holding notes.
In band or orchestra students can record themselves playing an instrument. Students can play back their music and listen for errors. Also students can add other instruments to their own recording. If students play the piano students can practice their fingering with a headset while the instructor is teaching other instruments. Tuning instruments becomes quite fun, too.
Do not limit yourself! The best way to learn is to play. If you give the students the iPad, I am sure they will find a way to use this App in the classroom.
